BIOGRAPHY

Sarah Noorhimli (b. Singapore) has
built a body of work that attests t
o the temporality of the human body
in an environment of rapid urbanisa
tion. She sifts through her personal image archive and appropriates references from f
ilm to conceive a hybrid form of speculati
ve nostalgia. Her practice presents itself as a dreamscape, emanating feelings of fam
iliarity and discomfort, where she collabo
rates with the computer to create technolo
gically-contaminated images.
After a brain surgery in 2022, Sarah has s
hifted her focus to the materiality of the body in its form and existence. She interr
ogates the manifestation of an artwork thr
ough her bodily presence, prioritising hum
an connection over physical production.
She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts (Fi
rst Class Honours) from LASALLE College of the Arts (Singapore). She has exhibited an
d curated extensively under her institutio
n, where she was a recipient of the Winsto
n Oh Travelogue Award (2024). She received the OFF-THE-WALL Award by Erik Kessels (20
25), exhibiting in Milan (IT), and was rec
ently selected to be part of DECK’s 10th e
dition of Undescribed (2025).
